Do you have an awesome advisor?
We want to know about it!
The Adviser of the Year Program is designed to honor outstanding advisers and their exemplary work from the previous year, as well as throughout their careers. At the Fall State Journalism Convention WHSPPA honors an Adviser of the Year.
Advisers may be nominated by their publication staffs, their administrators or their peers. Nominations should describe, in specific detail, what the adviser has done and/or accomplished that sets that person apart in the minds of the nominators. The Awards Committee makes final decisions.
Use the WHSSPA Adviser of the Year form to nominate a Wyoming adviser who has gone above and beyond to support student journalists.
Congratulations to our Wyoming Journalist of the year winner,
Cheyenne Hume of Cody High School.
Every year, a student is selected as the Wyoming Journalist of the Year to represent Wyoming Student Journalists at the National Convention. The Wyoming JOY award comes with a $500 scholarship and the chance to compete for a larger national scholarship.
If you are interested in having students apply, please check out the information below to be ready for the 2020 JOY Competition.
The FAQ sheet below is a great flyer with all the relevant information about JOY. Advisors, feel free to print and give to students or hang in your classrooms.
